Arête: Summit your way.
Arête builds your training plan backwards from summit day, for the mountain you want to climb.

Android app in development. Joining is free. Launch date and pricing are not announced yet.

Gym programmes don't prepare you for long days under a pack, steep snow or thin air. Guided trips assume you arrive ready. Too many climbers piece a plan together from forums and guesswork.
Arête gives you one structured path, built around one objective: yours.
For hikers stepping up to glaciers, gym climbers moving into the mountains, and alpinists chasing harder objectives.

Would you like to answer a short questionnaire to support us?
Question 1 of 3
Thank you.
That helps us build the right thing.
A training tool, not a guide.
Arête helps you prepare. It does not replace a qualified mountain guide, proper instruction, or your own judgement on the day. Always confirm your readiness for a route with a guide.
For guides and guiding agencies. Arête is looking to work with guiding agencies, so that more of the climbers who join an expedition arrive properly prepared and qualified. We have no agency partnerships to announce yet. If you run or work for an agency and want to talk, write to [email protected].
What is Arête?
A personalised training platform for mountaineering and alpinism. You choose a peak and a summit date, and Arête builds a training plan around them.
Can I download it yet?
Not yet. The Android app is in development. iOS is planned, and there is no iOS build yet. Join the waitlist to hear first.
What will it cost, and when does it launch?
We haven't announced either. Joining the waitlist is free and commits you to nothing.
Do I need mountain experience?
Arête is for hikers stepping up to glaciers through to experienced alpinists. Every peak shows what it asks of you, so you can see the gap before you start. Technical skills still need to be learned with qualified instruction.
What happens to my email?
We only use it to follow up about Arête. The Privacy Policy explains how we look after it.
How do invite links and climber numbers work?
Everyone who joins gets a climber number, which is their place in sign-up order and never changes, and a personal invite link. Each friend who joins with your link moves you up 5 places on the waitlist. Once 3 friends have joined your card turns gold and says Founding climber. At 5 friends you get early access. We also hand-pick a small group of beta testers, and people who share are first in line. Sharing is optional: you stay on the waitlist either way, and we will email you the details before launch.
